Prepare your car with an NCT Pre-test at Coby Autos
The 17th of April 2016 updated list of Penalty Point Offences now details sixty six (66) offences which will result in penalty points. Many of these offences are directly related to the condition of the car and if stopped at the roadside, even seemingly minor issues like failing to display either L (Learner) or N (Novice) driving plates – or even faulty or worn windscreen wipers – can result in penalty points.
More serious issues will obviously earn you more penalty points – and if you accumulate 12 points or more you will be off the road for 6 months.
It should be remembered that driving with serious vehicle defects – such as issues with steering, brakes, or badly worn tyres etc – will pose a very real safety threat to you (the driver), all occupants of your car and to other road users.

With a fully featured NCT Car / Vehicle Test lane we are fully equipped to perform an NCT pre-test on your car. We can also pre-test imports. Once your pre-test is completed, we will provide you with a complete report on all issues found. We can then also provide you with detailed pricing on any repair work that many need to be done.
If you then wish us to carry out the repairs for you, this work can usually be done the same day. Occasionally we may need to source specific parts – or (at the time) you may have to be somewhere else. Where this happens we will arrange a time with you that suits and give you an accurate estimate of how long any repair work will take. We will then contact you as soon as your car is ready for collection.
